Period 88. Read
I. Objectives
- Ss will be able to know something about some wonders of the world.
* Contents:
- Grammar: passive voice
- Vocabularies: compile, claim, ancient, honor, religious, surround, royal
- Skills: reading, speaking, writing

- Change the following sentences into indirect speech:
+ Mai said: "The Golden Gate Bridge is in San Francisco."
+ I asked my mother: "Is the Statue of Liberty in New York?"

Content of the lesson
* Pre-reading (10`)
- Introduce the content of the reading for Ss.
- Ask Ss to read the text in silence once and find new words.
- Present new words.
- Ask Ss to read after twice.
- Ask some of them to read aloud.
- Correct their mistakes.
* While-reading (15`)
- Ask Ss to read the text in silence again and do the exercise individually.
- Ask them to compare their answers with a partner.
- Ask some of them to give their answers and explain.
- Correct their mistakes.
* Post-reading (10`)
- Ask Ss to work in pairs, read the text again and answer the quesions.
- Ask some pairs to present.
- Correct their mistakes.
- Ask Ss to write the answers in their exercise book.
